Liptovská Teplička is a typical mountain village situated at the northern foot of the Low Tatras. The village is surrounded by beautiful scenery of the Čierny Váh (Black Váh) valley and typical for its folk traditions that can be found only blow the hill of Kráľova Hoľa (King's Bald Mountain). When you walk into Liptovská Teplička, you will find yourself on the boundary of the High Tatras National Park and the Low Tatras National Park and this is proved not only by a rugged terrain, but also by the wealth of fauna, flora and waters. First and second-class water protection zones of the Tatras-Spiš Water System therefore cover the village.
Establishment of the village was based on the Šoltýs' Rights during the second phase of the Wallachia Colonization, when the Goral population from the Upper Orava region settled in the area. Local people were farmers, rafters and tanners, and also worked in the forests. Liptovská Teplička with its over sixty-kilometre long cadastral border is the second largest village in Slovakia today. Majority of its population are Roman Catholics, which is also confirmed by the village's landmark, the Church of St John the Baptist, and by the natives, who became priests and built their reputation both in Slovakia and abroad.
Visitors can mainly adore unmistakable and well-preserved architecture of timbered houses and barns, which create a separate unit, also known as Stodolište (Barn Cluster). The village also offers other rarities, such as potato cellars and terraced fields, which complete the atmosphere of rural life in times past.
If you long for unforgettable experience, recreation and sport activities, Liptovská Teplička has a lot to offer. In addition to educational and scenic routes for hikers and bikers, one should not miss unique folk festival Pod Kráľovou Hoľou (Below Kráľova Hoľa) organized in summer. Nearby SKI PARK Liptovská Teplička resort will also please the fans of skiing and snowboarding visiting the village. Moreover, the summer sport area, which is turned into a skating rink in winter, is also open to the public. A varied offer of hospitality services will help you to enjoy your stay.
